Subestación de Guardo
The substation was acquired and refurbished by RPI in 1993 in order to connect the Guardo plants to the 132 kV distribution line. The electrical equipment used was all new with the exception of the power transformer (20 MVA & 30/132 kV) built in 1959 and cooled by water. A house hosts the metering system. It works as operation and supply storage centre. A computer system allows for the control and operation of both plants. The output of the substation travels through a 132 kV circuit breaker to two lines. Each connection has its own insulating switch. Iberdrola decides which line to connect, and informs the company who maneuvers the insulation switches.
